The VX Community is open to any citizen to join, whatever their age.
We work with children in many schools – some of whom have their own Values Exchanges, and we also work with Save the Children, which has a Values Exchange of its own.
We take safety online extremely seriously and regularly monitor our sites. We also have numerous ‘report abuse’ buttons.
We encourage everyone – children and adults – to build respectful relationships within the VX Community, and we strongly encourage children to report anything that concerns them.
We find that all VX members – and especially young people – are highly responsible on the site, and self-moderate. If anything untoward occurs – however minor – VX members deal with it either through their own interventions or by contacting the VX Team.
We advise young members to inform their parents and guardians of their intent to join or of their membership. We very much welcome the presence of families within the VX Community.
Because of the nature of the internet, people of any age can register on any site, including the most well-known social networks. We take the view that we would much rather have young people use their own VX Community than have to use sites that are not designed for them.
We state unequivocally that - apart from the use of avatars and pseudonyms - any person who uses the VX Community to present themselves as other than who they really are will be banned from the Community for life. At our discretion we may choose to invoke criminal or civil proceedings against any person breaching this condition. By using this website you unreservedly accept this condition.
